Initial results and Race report :
At the WFCRC hosted 3rd round of the West Mids Youth regional races held at Stourport , over 170 Riders turned up to race in what started to be a lovely sunny day that soon deteriorated into squally showers and windy conditions .
In the Under 8 Boys , Tri- athlete Ozzy Beswick faced stiff competition eventually finishing in 6th position
In the under 10s Polly Sibthorpe in only her second race held on well to the pack eventually coming home in 14th place, whilst Felix Forrester now knows he has to work on his fitness to improve standings, came home in 27th place in his first ever regional race.
A large number of riders were registered in the U12 Boys , Louis Smith had improved on previous outings and came home in 20th place but Charlie Boddice got stuck behind a slow starter and struggled to catch the pack, coming home in 24th place, with Posie Forrester in her first race at Stourport finished in 35th place.
A huge field started the Under 14' Boys with an accident at the start and another on the first bend . Sam Cooper had an excellent race being in the front of the Peloton for much of the race eventually coming 6th in the sprint finish. Ben Lawrence also had a good race and the extra miles he had put in ,in training paid off and he finished in 20th place. James Pedersen got caught out on the first bend with his wheel caught the moss and he went off on the grass, luckily no injuries of note and was able to remount and finish in 32nd place.
The girls U14 race saw 4 WFCRC riders entering , all of them having good races with Aimee Lane coming in 2nd place , Harriet Sibthorpe improving her fitness with an 8th place and Kinga Ingram in her first race coming home in 10th place. Isobel Cooper in her first race experienced cramp and had to retire .
The U16 Boys race saw heavy rain and hail and Harrison Bryan in a large field in a very fast race, finishing in 26th place, Whilst Erin Boddice got nudged onto the grass losing vital seconds and struggled to regain her place , Erin eventually came home in 6th place.

Next Race is the Redditch road and Path hosted event next Saturday 16th April at Tudor Grange, Solihull .
