Well that's it. Just had a text from my son Matthew to say he has arrived at Sydney having completed his solo cycle camping epic from Perth. He covered 2,685 miles in 34 riding days, an average of 79mls per day, plus another 3 rest days. On the way he was collared by the media with a short TV clip - in full Wyre Forest kit of course, and also covered the longest dead straight piece of road in Australia on one of the days. That little section is 146.6km; hope he had a tail wind! All this on a heavy tubed touring bike with full panniers and everything as he took all his clothes etc plus his tent, which he had to put up each evening and pack away the next morning. He is now looking up some friends in the Sydney area and also some relatives we have over there, but is due to fly back on the 31st July and 1st August. During his adventures he passed his 34th birthday. Well done Matt.

That is some hardcore miles and riding over there David, I can only imagine the kit Matt would have to take just to survive that!!! I brilliant achievement, I bet he has got some amazing tales to tell about his journey when he gets back??? Very cool thing to do, very impressed!
