I've pencilled in Sunday 16th December for our annual social for Christmas and am looking at suitable venues for lunch. It would be nice to get an idea of how many would like to come along. What usually happens is we have an easy pace ride out from Stourport for an hour or so to arrive at the designated venue mid day ish where we meet up with other members, families, friends etc for a Christmas meal and get together. Post replies asap please.

I've trawled round a number of venues and after a recommendation from Chris Morris have been out to look at the Manor Arms in Abberley. It's under new management and has got some good revues on Trip Advisor and they will set aside the snug for 10-12 of us, can increase if need be. So I have booked it for Sunday 16th December, meet 12.00 for 12.30 sit down. They do a Sunday roast with the usual trimmings at just £7.95, and if you want a starter or pudding it will be £11.95. They know some of us will arrive by bike! I will take the club ride out there on a circular route, nice and easy for those with decorated bikes and/or Santa outfits, meet at Stourport Sports Club 10.00am. Distance to the food will be circa 28 mls. The early dinner time is so those riding can get away before dark. Let me know who is coming to eat so I can advise the Manor Arms a couple of days in advance.

Ten of us enjoyed an excellent lunch at the Manor Arms today; the beef was particularly good. Those who coudn't come missed out on a fine social, pity the club ride was a bit low on numbers as the weather was mild and dry and we all enjoyed a nice steady and scenic route with no punctures or other problems. Keep yourselves in the social loop through this forum, in the new year we will be having an evening bash, maybe a curry night or such, with partners and old friends. More news when we have some dates firmed up.
