Been thinking.
On the Sunday fast group, we generally stop mid ride for a coffee and cake. But on the way back we don't really push on much, its always a bit slower post stop than pre-stop.
Should we push on for over a couple of hours, then stop closer to home for a coffee, so we get a longer session at pace.
Any thoughts?

I'm a fan of the format used when everyone was turning out for the Clent ride. Ride first then stop right at the end. That way if people want to head home for other commitments they can, while still being able to get out on a whole ride without worrying too much about time taken by a mandatory cafe stop.

And what about rule 42?.......and should that just be Leffe!

Go faster, go longer, go harder, then stop and eat cake.

Jack is right about the old Clent rides, it was a couple of hours hard, then stop. That worked fine.
I propose a change to the Sunday fast group, ride for a good couple of hours, then we stop closer to home.
Any suggestions for a target cafe with somewhere nice to sit inside and out, where we can keep an eye on the bikes, within 10 mins ride of our start point? The one Andy Preece took us to on the A44 near Fladbury is good.
Any other thoughts?

Is it coming to the time of year when maybe we just push on, full stop. If we wanted to stop close to home after we are done we could always use my place at Littleworth for the coffee, tea and the mother in laws Carrot Cake. I'm sure if you ask Dave M and Jason L they will more than approve with the service here? Days are getting shorter, dodgy weather, best get the training done and hit the brews after. Cold, damp weather is not great to go back out into after being sat around for 30mins. The Wasp Whisperer is not required this coming winter anyway so we are safe from Jasper Attachments:

That is the peak of wasp taming performance. Your place is fine for the post training cake, plus you own the team bus, so can give me a lift home!

I'm with you guys. When the southern division rides started we didn't stop and it always felt like a more consistent workout and most efficient use of time too.
I vote for stopping near the end of the ride, but for it to not be a norm. - i think we should do it as and when the mood takes us or prearranged if it is someone's birthday or similar.
