The first of twenty free BC coaching sessions took place last night (Thursday 02 October) at SSC. For those of you that did not get there, you missed a great evenings free coaching. I would guess that there were at least fifty riders, with a broad range of ages and abilities, from youth riders to old farts like myself. The evening was 2hrs of structured training, each routine was clearly explained, observed and constructive advice was given to help all. If you can peel yourself off the sofa next Thursday I would advise you to get to SSC before 6.45 in order to sign on and listen to the rider briefing before the session starts at 7pm prompt. A big emphasis was put on wearing adequate warm clothing arm & leg warmers etc as there are times during the evening when you are riding around at a steady pace between efforts, its not all about thrashing around at 30mph. Don't forget your WFCRC membership card and your BC membership card.

Excellent, that is a great start! This has been in the planning for some time. We have always wanted to offer coaching to our junior and senior members, but we have struggled with coaches of our own. Nick Yarworth from British Cycling has really played a blinder here!
We have gone from one extreme to the other, from no junior or senior coaching, to the highest qualified, quality sessions delivered on a closed road circuit offered to its members for free. There can't be many other cycling clubs in the Midlands that offer that!
