This is a big deal!!
After much discussion and planning, we are pleased to be able to announce that WFCRC members will now be able to receive free British Cycling coaching as part of their membership. We have always had a great Go-ride and youth coaching set up under Richard Pederson, we can now offer a similar coaching approach for junior and senior members.
The coaching will start on Thursday 2nd October and run every Thursday for 20 weeks on the circuit at Stourport Sports Club, under the new floodlights.
It will be free to WFCRC members on production of their membership card. Non-members will pay £3.00 per session. Only British Cycling members can take part, BC membership cards must be produced. (This is a condition of British Cycling funding the provision of their qualified, experienced coaches)
The coaching will be a 2 hour session from 19:00 until 21:00. It starts at 19:00, sign on at 18:45.
The coaching is aimed at riders who want to race or currently race. It is not an 'easy' ride around chatting session, it is exactly what we have been missing, a structured coached training session. Obviously, being run over the entire winter and early spring it is highly likely that the occasional session will be affected by the weather. Any changes to the planned sessions will be announced here on the forum.
If you have any queries please feel free to contact me at paul@peopleton.net or Nick Yarworth from British Cycling at nickyarworth@britishcycling.org.uk or on 07834 680303.
If you would like to take this great opportunity for attend please respond here on the forum so that we can get an idea of numbers.

This sounds fantastic! Just what is needed. Count me & Samuel in (I take it he would be OK to take part at age 12?). This would be really helpful for him as he goes up an age group next year - under14 in the regional races.

My son Tom (14 - 15 in Nov) would like to do it.
He had a go at racing in the Midlands Youth series at Litchfield this year and a lack of experience and fitness meant he could not compete.
He wants to compete next year, and has dropped other sports to focus on cycling.
Cant promise we can commit to every week but we will mostly be there.
Count me in too
