It is the club’s Annual General Meeting at Stourport Sports Club on Tuesday 11th November at 19:00.
It is extremely important that we get as many members as possible there on the night. This year to entice you even more, there will be a free buffet!! Dave Briggs will be there with the current stock kit to be purchased on the night. Also you will be able to renew your 2015 membership at the 2014 membership price, which will avoid any potential changes that may be introduced for 2015.
The club is currently very healthy with 125 members, continuing to grow and offer more activities, events and discounts to its members. We are in the almost unique position of being a host cycling club on a floodlit closed road circuit, the weekend club runs are coming together, social scene is great, the forum provides a great platform for members to keep in touch and 2015 club events are in the diary.
At this AGM a number of improvements and changes to how the club is run and administered will be discussed, we really want everybody’s view and opinion on the ideas that will be proposed.
There is no secret to how the club is run. We are a small, open committee of volunteers that do our best to pull it together. Over the past few years John Smith has worked tirelessly wearing a number of committee hats, and has now decided he needs to take it a bit easier. I fully support John is his decision to take a back seat, and be under no illusion, the club has grown into this strong position over the past few years thanks to Johns hard work. We now need to fill the committee positions that John undertook. Thankfully, a number of members have already expressed an interest in the core roles, which we will take a vote on during the AGM.
However, we really want every role on the committee filled by a different person, to reduce shared roles and get more club members involved with how the club is run to drive it forwards and grow into the future.
If you think you are interested in joining the WFCRC committee and would like to have a chat about it before the AGM, please feel free to contact me
