We are pleased to announce that the Stourport Circuit Summer Tuesday evening races have returned for another season.
The first race is on Tuesday 12th May and they will run every Tuesday evening to the last event on Tuesday 4th August.
These events can only take place because of the effort of volunteers from a number of clubs, namely - Gannet CC, Bromsgrove Olympique CC, Wyre Forest CRC, Stourbridge Velo, Beacon RCC, Worcester St Johns, Halesowen A & CC and Climb on Bikes as well as close support from British Cycling.
This year there is even more on offer, a points series being run over the whole summer to decide series winners at the end, and a women's only race added to the schedule. There was a clear desire for a women's event and we have all done our best to keep everyone else as happy as we can!
The races will still be ranked as Regional C+ events with British Cycling ranking points down to 10th place.
There will be three races on each evening.
Race 1 – 3/4 Cats – start time 7pm; duration 40 minutes
Race 2 – 2/3/4 women only – start time 7.45pm; duration 30 minutes
Race 3 – 2/3/4 – start time 8.20pm; duration 40 minutes
The races will appear on the British Cycling race calendar soon however there is no on-line pre-entry. Entry is on the day only (EOL) . Entry fee £10 per race.
Race Series
The preliminary plan is that the 13 weeks of racing will be run as a series with the best 9 results from 13 counting in a rider’s standings. Points to be awarded to the top ten (15,12,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3 and then all others starting receive 2 points).
Each race will have its own series standings, thereby creating three sets of series standings.
Series trophies will be presented for first, second and third in each series standing (9 trophies in total). Trophies will be presented on the final evening in August.
Final details are still being confirmed, but this is the general structure to the series.
