Well our super youth coach must be doing something right with his excellent coaching , as the whole WFCRC youth team was banned from riding in the Severn Valley Velo run Go ride races today at Stourport, apparently we are "too good and almost professionals" Bit of a disappointment for the youth , but a double edged compliment as there was lots other regional youth riders there. Well done Richard and the team.

What!
Can I just be clear, it was an 'open' event, with other clubs riding, but WFCRC youth riders were prevented from entering?

I have had a look into it and it appears that it's not as harsh as it sounds.
The event is on the BC Calendar, and is described as being for 'inexperienced' racers, so I can see why some of our youth team were prevented from riding, because as you say Ben, they are very good!
However I hope it wasn't a blanket approach to all WFCRC riders, as there are plenty who have little race experience.

A formal complaint has been made directly to British Cycling following this event by an individual who was present. WFCRC fully support the complaint that was made by the individual, and have also responded to the similar comments from other members.
British Cycling are now investigating and WFCRC are assisting fully in that process.
