The Motorsport operators at Shelsley Walsh Motor Hill Climb venue have a serious issue that needs to be raised amongst the cycling community.
There have recently been some incidents where cyclists have been riding on the hill while motor vehicles have also been travelling up. Clearly this is a serious safety issue. The cyclists have been told by somebody (not us), they are free to come and cycle up and down the hill, but when approached and asked which club they are from they refuse to answer and leave.
This weekend a number of cyclists appeared on the hill when 120 classic cars arrived to drive up!
Shelsley Walsh showed us great support to allow the cycling hill climb competition to be run on their premises, but that is the only time that cycling can take place. Outside of organised events there is strictly no cycling the hill without permission and out of hours is not permissible.
