So that we can plan well in advance, we are hosting two of the Stourport Summer Series Circuit Races on the evenings of 7th and 28th July. For us all to ride any events, TT's, sportives, road races etc. needs support from club members to allow them to be run.
We need help with marshalling, sign-on and finish line for both of these evening events. None of the roles are difficult or hard work, we just need some of your time. We are assisted on the finish line by the commissaries and British Cycling, plus our finish line camera app!
Sign on is from 18:00, marshals from 18:30, finish line from 19:00. We will all be done by around 21:00.
Sign on on is simply taking £10 off every rider along with their licence, ensuring they fill their details in on the form, then giving them their number.
Marshalling is standing at the gate, hairpins or path at the start and making sure people don't wander onto the circuit while its in use, with a radio to let the commissaries know if there has been a crash or is a problem.
Organising and running these events is not difficult, it just needs some support from our club memebers. We should be able to run race events on the circuit regularly, and it is a good income for the club.
Please reply below if you can assist, your support is really appreciated.

Thanks to everyone who has offered their help. I will drop an email out shortly, but just in case I don't have your email address, if you can aim to be at the circuit around 18:00-ish on Tuesday 7th July, we can get organised and set up.
If anyone else can spare any time that would be a great help, as those of you who have organised cycling events will know, we can never have too many helpers!
Cheers

Last night went really well, thanks to everyone who helped out, it is massively appreciated. It was certainly made easier by having as many members as possible on the ground.
All the planning and preparation worked well, no major problems. We certainly learned that the way to judge a finish line is a new iPhone with the camera in slow motion mode!
Next time we'll have two of them either side of the finish line stood on sets of steps, as some riders had their race numbers between their shoulder blades!
Interestingly the only crashes were in the 2nd cat race, so Chris the medical guy, thought he was having a quiet evening until the last 10 minutes!
Our next event is on Tuesday 28th July, all help appreciated.

A reminder - we are hosting the next round of the Stourport Summer Series Circuit Races on the evening of Tuesday 28th July. For us all to ride any events, TT's, sportives, road races etc. needs support from club members to allow them to be run.
We need help with marshalling and finish line for this event. None of the roles are difficult or hard work, we just need some of your time. We are assisted on the finish line by the commissaries and British Cycling, plus our members with iPhones and a GoPro HD camera!
Sign on is from 18:00, marshals from 18:30, finish line from 19:00. We will all be done by around 21:00.
Sign on on is very well handled by Richard and William Pederson.
Marshalling is standing at the gate, hairpins or path at the start and making sure people don't wander onto the circuit while its in use, with a radio to let the commissaries know if there has been a crash or is a problem.
Organising and running these events is not difficult, it just needs some support from our club members. We should be able to run race events on the circuit regularly, and it is a good income for the club.

Massive thanks to everyone who helped out at both of these events. We had really good support from the club members to put these races on, it really is appreciated. Both events ran really well. Rich and Will Pederson did a fantastic job at sign-on, all of the marshals were fantastic, and we had good numbers of people to share the load when judging the finish line. I've always said, you can't have too many people in hi-viz vests! Thanks again. Paul
