We have today officially exceeded 150 members!
We now have 151 member in the club, which is the first time in the clubs history that we have exceeded 150 members. There are over 50 youth/Junior riders, which shows the fantastic effort from Richard Pederson and Jon Howard in providing youth activities that attract interest. We also have almost 50 female members, a huge growth in recent years, much of which can be attributed to Lucy Walters having great time-trial success and showing that female riders can improve rapidly to get notable results.
This is all great news, as it shows that we are growing and providing our members with what they want... but we can still do much more!
I am really keen that we offer something to all of our members, but it doesn't have to be the central committee that organise activities or events, we really welcome any member who wants to pull something together. It doesn't need to be a big formal event either. Although we have our current longer Sunday club run, I am convinced that there are a number of riders who want a shorter 20 - 30 mile easy ride on a Sunday morning from Stourport, but it just needs someone to rev it up and get it on the club forum/Facebook/Twitter to make other members aware that it is happening.
Whilst we are a racing club, that's not what we are all about. The vast majority of our members never pin a number on, they just like being members of a good club, with access to the circuit and riding with other like minded cyclists. We must make that clear ensure that we don't deter potential new members who may think its all about training and riding flat out!
We offer more to our members than any other Midlands cycling club, but I want to keep offering even more. If anybody has any ideas about what club benefits we can provide please do not hesitate to contact me.

Its the club AGM on Monday 9th November, (with a free buffet again!) I really encourage members to come along, meet everyone and see how we can drive the club further forward during 2016. We have lots of good ideas coming together to provide even more, including purchasing competition rollers so that we can have roller racing events over the winter, and flying 1km TT's on the circuit.
The club is only as strong as its membership, nothing that we do is technically difficult or onerous, but the more people that we have throwing ideas into the mix and saying "I'll do that", the more attractive we become. We can definitely clear the 200 members mark in the coming years!
If anybody wants to do get more involved or has idea that may be worth pursuing please feel free to contact me directly at paul@peopleton.net
