WFCRC are again co-promoting the cycling hill climb time trial at Shelsey Walsh motor hill climb course on Sunday 4th October 2015. This is the second time an open cycling event has taken place at this venue, last year went extremely well, and we are hoping for another great event this year.
We need 10 people to assist, mainly for marshals, starting at around 09:00 until lunchtime (ish) depending on the number of riders. It’s not too much of a stressful task as it’s a fully closed course, so no vehicles, just spectators and riders to watch over! I will confirm exact timing and details closer to the day.
Please let me know if you are able to help out.

Unfortunately I will be away so am unable to help this year. Any member thinking of helping out the club for the first time, rest assured this event really is the easiest one to marshall. And of course the real bonus is the all day breakfast served at the Stratstone restaurant afterwards.

For those that are coming to assist at Shelsley Walsh Cycling Hill Climb tomorrow:
Practice starts at 08:30, but we don’t anticipate many riders being there at that time for their warm up. I will be there from then along with a few guys from Worcester St John’s CC, so the general message is get there between 09:00 and 09:30, so that we are set up for the increase numbers of riders pre-riding the course towards the end of warm up which finishes at 10:30. The start of the event is at 11:01. Last rider is off at about 12:10.
The weather looks OK at the moment, dry, cloudy and cool, so wrap up fairly well. We will have our WFCRC hi-viz vests on the day.
There is very limited mobile phone reception, so when you arrive head towards the barns/pit area if you can’t find me ask a marshall to contact me, or Rick Allen on the 2-way radios
The Stratstone restaurant café on site will be open for the whole event for tea. Coffee, cakes, lunch etc.
Directions
From Worcester. Take the A443 from the centre of Worcester turn Left on the B4204. Continue through Martley and over Ham Bridge. Turn first Right after the bridge and before the hill, Shelsley is about 1 mile on left.
From Great Witley. Take the B4203 towards Bromyard. Cross Stanford Bridge. Turn First Left. Shelsley is about 1 mile on right.
From Bromyard. Take the B4203 to Stanford Bridge. Turn Right before crossing the bridge. Shelsley is about 1 mile on right.

Thanks very much for all of the club members who came to help out with marshalling at the hill climb on Sunday. The event went really well, with some great results from our club members as well.
As soon as I get hold of the full results I'll get the on the forum and website.
Thanks again.
