Just wondering if anyone in the club is doing the 'Wiggle No Excuses' next month? Lucy is on the 45 and I'm on the 80 miler. Love to try and do it in sub 4 hours but will need a bit of company

Well it did not quite go to plan due to the weather. Got to the Premiere Inn on Friday evening, eat like a horse (probably eat some as well???) in preparation for the Epic 80 miler. Lucy was booked on the shorter 40 miler so all in hand. Checked the weather before sleep time and it looked wet and wild. Up Saturday early, Porridge for breakfast and off to Huntingdon Race course for the start. Went to registration and notices everywhere that the Epic route was cancelled so everyone was on the standard route. Both set off and said we would see how it went. Well it was wild, rain like someone was aiming at you with a hosepipe, 50mph wind, punctured riders everywhere. Lucy rode through the pain with a whopping average heart rate for the course of 169bpm . She really did give it everything and she certainly took the suffering on the chin literally. We got home with time of Silver 2:39:39, I did leave Lucy twice but pulled out after 2 minutes each time because the weather was just too awful for her to ride on her own. Well organised and actually a free event, if anyone in the club would like to ride any of the other events this year let me know as I would like to do a couple. The one at Stratford looks ok and local as well. Got back in the afternoon, decided that I had really not suffered enough for the day so went out and did another 40 miles around home. And yes I had my 'Suffer Tank' filled for the day ;D Well done Lucy, you really did push the boundaries today x

Holy Moly... That does sound like some serious effort!
Well done to Lucy, and you are crazy for getting out again when you got back!

It is your fault I went out again Paul. Did not suffer enough at Huntingdon so gave it some when I got home. Strava was interesting, no pain, no gain!

That looks a good one Andy, I might have a go at that myself There is a 'broom Truck' late in the day to pick up any one that has thrown in the towel and there is time limits but these are very, very generous so you will have no problem. Riders normally set off every 2 minutes so a reasonable spread, must be a bit of a nightmare in your a car driver though. Good fun and very well organised you should have a good day, hopefully the weather will be ok as well.
