Provisional places and report.
On a lovely sunny morning 12 members of WFCRC travelled to the Sundorne track at Shrewsbury to compete in round one of the 2016 youth regional races .
For several of the riders it was their first taste of racing, for others it was to be their first race in a higher age category.
In her first race in the under 10 Girls , Polly Sibthorpe did exceedingly well , finishing in 5th position out of a field of 9 riders .
In a packed under 12 Boys race Louis Smith and Charlie Boddice worked well together , helping each other through the entire race thanks to Richard Pedersens coaching techniques eventually finishing mid way at 21st and 22nd places.
In her first race in the under 12 Girls , Posie Forrester did really well finishing in 10th position,
Aimee Lane continued last years form having gone up into the Under 14 Girls category eventually finishing in 2nd place with Harriet Sibthorpe in her first race coming home in 8th.
Both Sam Cooper and Ben Lawrence found themselves in a massive field of riders in the Under 14 Boys ,with a lot of pushing and shoving , 3 riders took off from the very start , With Sam leading the front of the following Peloton for much of the race eventually finishing in 9th place , whilst Ben Lawrence struggled with the 6 extra laps in his first ride in that age category coming in at 32nd place.
Erin Boddice improves with every race and finished in 7th position in the Under 16 Girls . Whilst Jamie Crump found himself caught up in a very fast Under 16 Boys races with a very exciting fast finish , coming in at 15th .
Husband and Wife riders Michael and Vicki Boddice also competed in the respective Cat 4 and Womens races with Michael coming in at 27th in a high turn out field and Vicki in only her second race finishing in 15th place.
