Tuesday night I raced at our home circuit at the Stourport Summer Series. This was to be only my 5th race. A total of 7 ladies lined up at start. I made an ok start(best you can when you've got to clip in!),kept with the bunch and wasn't deterred by the three ladies from Velo Vitesse who clearly were working to tactics and trying to keep me out of the bunch. The attack came at four laps to go, off I went which left just 4 of us to contest the final sprint! So head down, on the drops, off I went and came home 3rd for WFCRC!!! Now I have 8 points as a 4th Cat, and ranked 15th nationally. You never know what your capable of until you try so come on ladies, give it a go!

Well done and well said Vicki!
Women lack the confidence in competing and I can confirm that. I would have never raced/time trialled if Justin hadn't forced (sorry encouraged) me into entering my first event. It's such a satisfying feeling when results start improving and then you start believing in yourself.
Hopefully Vicki our confidence and success can surely only encourage more women into having a go and joining us along with Karen Riley and Denise Burrows (my fellow time trial buddies).
We are so fortunate to have our own facilities at Stourport and regular club time trials that more women should have the courage to have a go.
Keep up the good work and make sure you enter more Cat 4 races before you move into Cat 3!!
