As some of you may be aware Brian Clarke, who runs our club evening TT's, was involved in an accident while cycling yesterday. I have spoken to his family and he is not seriously injured, but was kept in hospital overnight for observation following scans.
I am sure you will join me in wishing Brian a swift recovery.
One of the things that this incident highlights is the importance of a correct emergency contact number. When the accident occurred the Police could not initially find any next of kin or family contact details. They went door-to-door around his neighbours, one of whom recalled that he rode for WFCRC. That neighbour contacted me, and I retrieved the emergency contact number Brian had provided to us from the British Cycling system that we use for membership management.
If you need to update the emergency contact number that you provided please email our membership secretary, Paul Gibson at paulthepainter23@msn.com
Regards
Paul

One of the things that this incident highlights is the importance of a correct emergency contact number. When the accident occurred the Police could not initially find any next of kin or family contact details. Recommended "in case of emergency" contact number via a persons mobile phone is to put one's preference under ICE; that is recognised by services and most people as the easiest, providing you have your mobile phone on you of course.
