Congratulations to Posie Forrester on obtaining her track accreditation. Below is a report by Posie's father Tom describing what was involved in obtaining her accreditation. Posie had been expressing a real interest in getting track experience so we booked her onto a cluster session with BC at Derby velodrome. The coaches were impressed with her bike handling and recommended that she get further experience on the track. Accreditation consists of 4 stages. These stages can be completed in a fast track process during 1 day which we chose to do rather than over 4 weeks. Skills that they need to master include completing a change from front to the rear of a line of riders within 1 lap, riding in a ‘stack’ of riders and changing from top to bottom at designated points. To successfully pass they then need to complete a 25 lap race. Now she can ride at any UK velodrome and will be joining in youth drop in sessions at Newport as well as Derby for accredited riders. Her aim is to then start racing at Newport at their indoor league on a Tuesday evening later in the season. She also intends to attend a new move to the Halesowen races held on Friday evenings when she is able to. Everything is just based around building her fitness, speed and endurance with the aim to do well in the cyclo cross season later in the year. I am sure the club wish Posie all the best in her future endeavours
