(A copy of this post is in the 'general discussion' section as well)
Following recent discussions amongst the WFCRC Committee, a suggestion was made to update the cyclist graphic logo of the club. It was proposed that the existing logo was a little outdated and a better image could be produced to represent the club.
The aim is to provide a logo that can be carried over onto casual wear such as polo shirts and fleeces as well as track-side banners, club website, forum, Facebook, club branded bottles, car window stickers, frame stickers etc etc.
The committee vote confirmed the opinion that this new logo looks more modern and suits our image as a racing cyclists club. If we update the logo now, the kit will serve us for a long time, and will not need changing.
Shown below are the old and new logo:
This new logo will replace the older version on the club kit to be supplied by Endura. It was agreed that if a change was going to be made, now was the sensible time, as design change costs would be incurred if new kit was now produced with the old logo, then changed again next year. The old logo would definitely have been updated eventually!
The Endura kit design will be identical to the GSG kit in colour, design, layout and overall image (as far as possible when switching clothing manufacturers); the only difference will be the WFCRC logo on the white strip across the front and the small logo on the rear pocket area.
The new logo will look visually much more appealing on casual wear, a project which has already commenced. See polo shirt and kit bag proposal below.
Our aim is to provide more for our members in terms of kit, clothing, cycling activities, racing and social events. We want more members in the club, as more members means more that the club can do. The only way to increase membership is give cyclists a good reason to join Wyre Forest Cycle racing Club.
