Hi All Pleased to announce that the Endura kit order has now arrived. All those club members that have pre ordered kit can either pick it up from Dave Briggs davidbriggs150@btinternet.com or come to SSC on Tuesday May 20th at 8pm, armed with your cheque book of course, strictly COD.

I've got to say I'm not blown away with Endura so far - Skinsuits not matching the test ones they sent out
- Long wait from when we placed the order
- I don't like the design of the shorts. Purely aesthetic, but the white band on the side is much larger than the one it butts up to on the jersey. Previous supplier version did not do this, they had a similar panel but printed it to match up. Also colour matching between jersey and shorts is not as good as before.
No criticism of anyone involved here, bar Endura. First order,so a leap into the unknown for the club. I was expecting some real quality product and service.

We had issues with our previous supplier, so we swapped to Bioracer We had issues with Bioracer kit and supply, so we swapped to GSG. We had issues with GSG kit and supply, so we swapped to Endura.... Every club has issues with their kit supplier. We are far more likely to be able to resolve problems with Endura as they are UK based and manufacture here as well. Previously its been through a 3rd party, with manufacturing abroad. The only clubs I know who don't encounter kit issues have a choice of 4 items available, and you buy from their stock. Just for clarity: - The GSG kit didn't match shorts to top in every incarnation, it kept changing design, as can be seen from my skinsuit from GSG, see pic. Some shorts had leg bands, others didn't. Some blue on the GSG tops matched the shorts, others didn't.
- The Endura skinsuits are fine, its 3 speedsuits that we have the issue with on size.
- Some of the delay was caused by us ensuring the kit design was correct for the long term so we don't need to change it again.
This is the original GSG skinsuit... The later versions had blue leg bands and the white stripe on the top and shorts lined up.

Yeah, I understand all that. I think I was expecting something very good from Endura and they seem to be no better than other suppliers, which is a shame. I'd have thought that shorts that match a top 'nicely' would be a no-brainer for any supplier. If nothing else, a cycling club is a nice passive customer - easy return business with no marketing effort. I'd have thought that getting the initial order bang on would be a high priority for a supplier. Low margins though. Like I said, right decision to use Endura and no criticism of anyone in my comments. I'd just got high hopes. I'd thought it would be close to Rapha style quality/service and attention to detail or heading that way and a leap from GSG. We'd better do all of our negotiations before Scotland goes independent

Do Sky have these kit problems?

I would guess not, but then again they had a 2013 annual budget of £17 million plus £30 million initial set up costs, of which £1.4 million is for kit and 'performance equipment' annually. We are not quite there yet.
