Well it is that time again, if you were lucky enough to get a place from the ballot then well done but I'm only aware of Jamie Jenkins and Lucy Walters getting individual places, however we may be able to get more members in. I have to be fast on this but I can request a number of 4 person teams be entered from WFCRC. Don't worry about the team thing, this is just an excellent way to get yourself on the event. Accommodation can be booked independently and I generally organise accommodation on a budget. Last year a few of us went down on Friday night staying at Dagenham Premiere Inn for around £100, rooms can accommodate 2 adults or a family of 4 so very cost effective. I'm not sure about prices this year but I will check them out. The actual event is Sunday 2nd August and there is a Freeride around London on closed roads on the Saturday which is really good. Last year we rode in to London on Saturday morning, took in the views and had a really great day. Sunday we got down to business even though it was a little wet, we got the job done! I have booked good weather for this year.
So, I need to know who is interested. Don't worry about your speed or ability, Boris Johnson did the previous 2 events.
Leave your names below on this thread please, I need replies by Tuesday 17th March so I can apply for team numbers. I can't guarantee places but will try my best. I have also asked this event to be circulated through our BC message service.
It would good to turn this into a club weekend, even if you don't get a place on the event, it is still worth coming down as there is plenty to do.
Cheers

Hi Justin, following out meet last week momentum has been gained, turbo trainer has been dusted off, granted the lycra was straining at the seams but it felt good. If theres an opportunity to join a more sedate group I'd like to put my name forward.
Have a great holiday enjoy that american sunshine Chris Harrison (P.s hope to see you before our next court appearance, its never the nicest of environments!)

Hi Justin, I also have an individual place confirmed. Not sure on the logistics of travel and accommodation yet, so would be interested in what you find. Cheers Steve.

Nice one Chris, I could see you getting the interest flowing again the more we chatted.
I have now requested a number of teams for the event, a number of men's teams, a female team and a mixed team. There is no guarantee what we get if any but the request has been made to the organisers of Pru100. I have he following names;
Ben Carrington William Coley Chris Harrison Shaun Hickinbottom Andy Convery Paul Darby Justin Walters Chris Harrison Geoff Pye Jon Howard Jason Lloyd
I will keep you informed of progress, if anyone else wants to be involved place put your name on this thread.

Ok, the situation is that we got awarded;
1 x Mixed Team (2 males/ 2 females) 1 x Woman's team (4 females)
Due to this I only have 2 places for males which I intend to get some one to pick 2 names out of the hat. So if you did put your name down showing interest in the event please let me know whether you are still interested in doing the event. I will close the draw entree on Friday 24th April at Midnight, your name is not down on this string I presume you are no longer interested.
We do have a surplus of Female places, 6 in total with a little bit of interest. Want a place let me know;) I will need to fill 2 of these female places to get the 2 male places.
Draw will be done over the weekend.
Cheers

Back in April this seemed a long way off, suddenly its here. We are all revved up and ready to go, plus the weather forecast is almost perfect, warm with a light tailwind home! We'll update how it went on our return!

Fantastic event yesterday, now up to 28,000 entrants so it was noticeably busier on the route, but we had a great ride even though Shaun punctured on carpet tacks on the route in Richmond Park! He got back into it and still recorded a great time.
The even better news is that thanks to Shauns's effort after his puncture it gave the Wyre Forest CRC team a provisional position of 6th place out of 300 UK teams in the British Cycling Club Challenge!
That's really consistent riding form all involved! Great day out.
