At the Solihull CC promoted Youth regional on 18th June , 11 WFCRC Youth riders were in attendance in dry ,occasional sunny , non windy conditions .
In the U10's Felix Forrester found himself in a very fast ride , but rode well and came in at position 19.
U12 Boys , saw the team of Louis Smith and Charlie Boddice riding in a fast peloton for much of the race with Louis Smith coming home in 8th place, with Charlie Boddice finishing in 18th ,
U12 Girls , saw Posie Forrester coming home very tired in a respectable 6th place.
U14 Boys , was to be an excellent race for Sam Cooper , although who didnt get too good a start, fought his way to the front and made a fast break, leading the field by a good distance for a few laps before dropping back into the peloton , Then again making a break for it towards the end coming 1st and winning the race , beating some fierce rivals. Ben Lawrence had a good race but suffering from a cough wasnt on good form, although finished in 24th place with a good 10 riders behind him.
U14 Girls were in a mixed race with the U16 Girls , so it was difficult to see who was where , but both our riders in that category did well, with Aimee Lane coming 2nd and Kinga Ingram in 4th place.
U16 Girls . Only one of our riders in this group , Erin Boddice fighting a crippling headache but did well finishing in 4th place.
In the U16 Boys , Jamie Crump caught a wheel and crashed out on the warm up lap and it looked like he wouldnt race as went down hard, but managed to recover to start the race. It was an exceedingly fast race and Jamie was bruised and dazed but managed to keep in the peloton and even leading at one time , but eventually came in at 12th place with fellow rider Ollie Bill working on building up his stamina, finishing in 22nd place .
Well done who turned up to race , some photos, are on the F/B group page
