With the extra days off work I'm able to get out Today and tomorrow (Friday), so plan on taking Saturday off and riding Sunday and Monday. Four days in five with a day of recovery.
Out at about 10 today if you are around Justin. Need to drop car off for service first. Couple of yours max to keep in family's good books.

I'd be up for any rides Sunday or Monday.
I've planned on doing a long easy ride tomorrow with a mate. I don't think he'd keep up with the southern set's tempo.

Good ride today, a little cold first thing but we soon warmed up. From Peopleton, Droitwich, Stourport to SSC track. Around a few times and headed back stopping for a coffee on the way. Must have worked Paul hard as he had a Scone the size of a Boulder! Headed back to Peopleton and the sprints started. Well he tried everything, lead outs, sneak, surprise, the lot. Think it was 4-1 to me on the final bend and I do believe I gave you one there my training buddy??? (Wait for confirmation on that). I think the Boulder had something to do with the outcome. I was of course sensible, no stupid really and had a 'Clif Bar'. I won't make the same mistake again Anyway good ride, we pushed it a bit on the straights and Paul was game doing the work into the wind haha Nice one mate, till the next meet up

Yep, good ride. I did try everything on those sprints, and I think you are being kind saying 4 - 1!!
However, you may have noted that I was getting closer.... Having said that you have got a powerful sprint, I am not sure I can match it without really working on my tactics. I think I need to get my cadence up to about 200 rpm!
The boulder definitely didn't help, but you can't beat a good boulder or two! Although sprinting for every sign on a 45 mile ride does take some work!

Yep we did well. I wonder if a pair of Cosmic SLE's would make life a bit harder still for you?

Good day training today. Did a steady circuit the Paul D warming him up for the big race tomorrow. 38 steady miles and no sprints today to talk about, he is saving his beans for tomorrow Got home then it was out with the wife Lucy who is also a Wyre Forest club member with the objective to complete her first 50 mile ride. Beautiful sunshine blessed us and off we went. Kinnersley, Defford, Bredon and a complete circuit of the hill, Pershore then through Bredon again, Tewkesbury, Longford, Upton and back home. Well she cracked the 50 and in fact ended up just short of 62 miles, average speed 17 mph. Excellent effort Luc, well done ;D

Excellent, well done. I think the last 62 mile ride I did was slower than that!
Lucy will be out with the Saturday fast group soon!

Well David, I will come clean. The mother in law is the 'Master Cake Baker' and has supplied us with very large Ginger and Carrot cakes. In fact there seems to be a unlimited supply of cake, it is replaced as fast as i can eat it! To control my intake of cake I have to cut it up and then freeze it in packs of 2. Sure enough 2 pieces are always on the side when I get back to have with the fresh coffee I'm sure we could come to an arrangement for supplying but quality cake does not come cheap. But it is sure worth it!!!
