Yep, let's see what the weather is like first thing. I need to get out and do something, I can't face any more turbo sessions!!
Plan for 0900 at the flooring place. Weather dependant.

Either of you near a main road? I've just popped outside and it is a bit icy on the housing estate that I live on. Main roads could be clear. Temps look set for -1 all day according to bbc site.

Not by any main roads at Littleworth really. Been out, ice patches about here and we have had a sprinkling of snow as well overnight. I'm going to be sensible here chaps, I'm a no. It's just not worth it to come off and damage your gear and more importantly yourself. I've worked too hard to risk it for a bloody freezing ride and then lie up injured. We are all on e same wavelength here chaps, it's not worth it for a morning to throw the coming good weather away

How was the Turbo Paul??? not your favourite subject I know! Did an hour on the Wattbike and a play with the a few tests. I went steady, so much data. Just trying to ride and worry about the data later once I get used to the trainer. Peak Power test was fun, came in at peak 1180w, average 880w. Great tool, going to come in handy to track my progress ;D

Couldn't face the turbo again, so got out over the Lenches for an hour at about 16:30, into that relentless easterly, it wasn't pleasant but still strangely better than the turbo!
Glad the watt bike is set up, what period was that average power over?

Can't believe you went out in that!, ride inside anytime when it is like that. Was like cycling abroad mate, shorts and jersey on We went for a walk with the dog this afternoon and the wind was bitter cold. Got next week off work, not sure I will be on the bike much. If you are about let me know. All sorts of built in tests on the bike, Kilo, 200metre flying lap, 750metre team sprint, 3 min Aero fitness test, 4000metre individual pursuit, 10km stratch race, 30 & 60 min timetrial. There is a ranking system for each test on Wattbike. The power is done over 5 seconds from a stationary start. My hour ride came in at 230 watts average for the hour and was a steady ride, power came in at 2.98w per kg for me. Been doing a little reading and this seems a very respectable figure for power/ mass per Kg. Gives me a starting figure to work on. Seems my left leg is stronger than the right so have some work to do to equal the effect and increase my power slightly. Just been using the weekend to get comfortable on it and changed the pedals as well. Just did not feel right yesterday without clipping in. But it is so nice to ride on, air break adjustment for resistance is so smooth. This is going to make a big difference to my training now and I should get more out of the large amount of miles I have been doing. But have missed he club rides this weekend, hope the weather improves soon.

Interesting, as a rough guide here are some power outputs: Chris Froome beating Bradley Wiggins in the Vuelta TT put out 412w for an hour. 1300w required to win a Tour de France sprint. Bradley Wiggins at the world champs TT 447w for an hour! Tour de France rider 6w per kg From the power read out on my turbo, my 10 mile TT and 25 TT results my functional threshold power is about 330w. This puts me at 4.7w per kg-ish. There is a useful table here: www.cyclingpowerlab.com/CyclingPowerOutput.aspx

Well that is no good, will have train harder I will need to do a 'all in hour' to find the correct figure for myself, I was trotting along at under 150bpm for that figure. I was working last Friday at a customers house and slipped on some very green stone steps, ended up at the bottom holding my right butt check. A little bruised and sore but seems ok luckily. Right leg has been down on power over the weekend compared to my left, think it might be down to my little slip. Interval training this afternoon, have to see how that goes. Think I just saw the sun!!!

Did 58.7miles with Paul to SSC, checked out the first TT course. Back home for lunch then out with Lucy for her ride which was 43.2 to Pershore, Tewkesbury, Longford, Upton and back. Nice steady pace at just over 16mph. The wife is going very well and getting faster.

Let's aim for the flooring place in Drakes Broughton at 0900.
I haven't got hours, a lap of Bredon or something along those lines should do.
