We have a club run every Sunday leaving at 9.00am from Stourport Sports Club, Kingsway, Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire, DY13 8BQ. (Next to Stourport High School) The route is generally decided on the day and is usually 40-60miles easy conversational pace, around 16mph. Stop half way for a cup of tea and a bun, back home around 1.30ish. Everyone welcome, feel free to just turn up on the day.

We're trying to get 3 runs going from end of November. The A group will be for the faster guys, probably no stop. Ideal for I suggest Phil Hunt, Chris Morris, Clive Heath, James Jenkins, Jack Coombe, Paul Darby, Andy Overton, Dave Meacham, Mike Hopkins, Dave Wood. The B group is the current club run with cafe stop, suit myself, Smithy, Ken Bradbury, John Clarke, Aaron McCulloch, etc, and the C group will be taken by Richard Pedersen with those such as Rachel Heath, others new to cycling and WFCRC and will be a gentle hour and a half easy pace ride. Of course people can move between groups and it may be on some days the A & B meet up at the cafe stop for anyone wanting to change groups mid ride. Lets see how it goes, all meet 9.00am Sundays at the club room, Stourport Sports Club.

The C ride will start this Sunday morning 25th November and will meet at 9-00am at SSC as with all the other club rides and will be suitable for newcomers to cycling and the not-so-fit riders who fancy a club run but may find the other rides a bit too fast or long, everyone is welcome and nobody will be left behind! The route will be decided on the day.

Hi all, I'm new to cycling, at least new as in started again in July after 20 years without. Yes the Olympics spurred me on I am currently old (approaching 42), fat (82Kg dropped from 87.5Kg August 31 2012) and a very out of shape smoker ( working on changing that ). Since I got back on a bike I have been tracking my performance using strava www.strava.com/athletes/webb_andyStrava was how I discovered the WFCRC as I follow one of your members (Paul Darby) because until recently, he held the KOM for a hill very close to where I live. The Sunday social ride idea is appealing to me but a rough calculation of my current performance for 1.5 hours cycling would put me in the approx 10 - 12 miles travelled distance. Can you give me an idea if that is close enough or am I already way out of my league? I know the post says " nobody is left behind " but I really don't want to feel like I am the one holding others back. Andy

Hi Andy, you are very welcome to come along on Sunday, and dont worry, im also out of shape as well, the C rides are aimed at cyclists who are not so fit or are new to cycling but would would like to join in a club ride but without the fear of being left behind. They are run at a leisurely pace for approx 1.5 hours and you will be made very welcome, we meet at 9-00am at SSC and decide on the route and distance on the day and it would be great to meet you, cheers RichardP

Hi Andy, I understand your surprise about the other 9.00 o'clock, the morning thing is a nasty shock that requires something to moderate it. I can recommend cake I might add that when Richard says he is out of shape it is not true; I went on the C run with him a couple of weeks back and can confirm he is perfectly round See you in the morning, weather and alarm vlock permitting.

All I can say is thank you very much for a very enjoyable ride. Looking forward to joining and doing more rides. Great group of people and the most enjoyable road ride I have had to date, I never knew there were so many miles of road without mountains to climb .

Enjoyed the club run yesterday, great idea having the two runs, myself, James, Jack and Ken did 60 miles without a stop, which is ideal if you want to get home a little earlier. Hopefully we will get more people out in the coming weeks. ;D ;D
