Is there a consensus for this Sunday (24th Feb)?
Echelon, Redditch or club run? I'm a new member and want to make sure I ride with some club members. Only 2 of us out for club run last weekend.
Thanks

I'm doing the Echelon ride and I think James Jenkins is doing the same. I haven't heard from anyone else other than on here

I have the Redditch in mind but am a tad off colour last couple of days - one of the lodgers has been at home with a cold and I feel as if it's trying to get me . I have done a couple of rides this week but the cold air makes it a chore and now I'm feeling a bit rough I feel ambiguous about Sunday. Perhaps I need more cake . Those travelling to RT's should share lifts if they can.

Mark and I are planning to do the Echelon Cycles ride but we are wimping it and doing the 42 miler as it starts at 10. Don't like icy roads!

Went to Leominster-Hereford-Malvern-Ledbury-Tewkesbury-Upton and back home to Littleworth You just nipped out, no training, and did 103 miles! I know how I'd feel tomorrow, absolutely knackered!!!!! That's impressive, I did a hilly 45 miles over Malvern today, I don't normally feel the cold too much, but I was freezing when I got back. Are you in Littleworth near junction 7 of the M5? I am in Peopleton, occasionally a few of us from the club of us head out from here, you'll have to join us when we next get together.

I've been training indoors on the statics but not out with you guys yet. Been static riding for 18 months, needed to loose weigh (was a porky 16 stone and now a slim 11 stone 10 cycling machine). Done my first ride beginning of last August and it has gone from there really. Ygot a lot to learn so decided to join WF to get some help and quality company on the roads. Yep at Littleworth so would be great to pick up on some of the rides with you guys. 2 of us went out to Leominster-Hereford-LeighSinton-Malvern-Ledbury-Corselawn-Tewkesbury-Upton and back. Should have got Pershore in as well but light was drawing in. Just over 18 mph but its a bit hilly heading west that far and Our introduction to Frome hill was lovely. But the body feels good so riding hopefully today. Really need to slot in with rides with members now so up for anything going. Bring on the suffering!!!

103 miles at 18mph, thats really impressive and welcome to the club.
We'll definitely sort out a ride with the southern contingent of the WFCRC soon.
Just out of interest why was WFCRC your choice of club, as obviously there are other clubs locally to this area?

Thermal vest I think kept me nice and warm. Going on again this morning!! It was chilly on Descents and riding into the north easterly wind. Going on again this morning!!! Echelon ride it is this morning but only the 42 miler, had enough hills yesterday (still think I'm pedalling up Frome Hill now). See you guys in a bit.

With joining the club I had a choice really, St.Johns, Stratford or WFCRC. Even though not so local I choose you guys because of the facilities, the forum is excellent and I was impressed with the 'mission statement' and generally a very well organised club from the website. I also had 3 great recommendations as well about the club, I also needed somewhere that would make my wife Lucy feel welcome. Im really interested in the competitive side of cycling and have no experience at all. Echelon went well though, meet Jack at the end on my way out. Started well and ended up with one of the Echelon guys called Jim. We went well for 30 miles and then Jim faded, tried to keep him going but we split about 7 miles from Pershore. Got back in 2hrs15mins tops, could have maybe knocked another 5 mins off that but tried to stick with Jim in case he got a second wind. But was great and good experience for me, clocked 193 miles the last 3 days. Sofa and TV for the rest of he evening now

193 miles in 3 days, I won't be doing that sort of mileage till I get in the warm in Mallorca next month, and even then I'll need cake! Still time to join me and others if you can, if not I am planning to go out again in October for the more social riding then.

I'm just looking forward to being able to ride without damn leg warmers! ;D Apparently they have something called 'sunshine' in Majorca too

Now where's all the pain and suffering nipping abroad where it is nice and sunny??? Not going to freeze your n*** to the saddle over there. Sounds great but constantly blowing my budget on gear at the moment, just when you think you are done there is something else to buy. Sounds nice for October though, will get some details off you at some point.
