Epic ride today, I decided to call it 'Battering The Malverns'!!! Only me out today as PD was lay on the beach, lazy boy. Started heading over to Pershore, then down to Tewkesbury. We normally head right to Ledbury but the tailwind was so good decided to keep heading South down to Gloucester which I hit in 1 hour. Headed back up then to e bottom side of Ledbury and took the first climb up to British Camp, over the top and down to Welland. Over to Malvern Link and then climb 2 all the way to the Wych Cut. Then decent fast to the bottom of Colwall and the climb 3 up Evendine lane. Coffee and a Rock Cake on the top and then all the way back to Upton-Upon-Severn, Defford, Pershore again and back home. 91miles in 4hrs50mins with a good average speed of 18.8mph with all the climbing thrown in. Great weather and a little cutting on the way back up but the Malverns gave a bit of protection to the wind. Great ride, will defo do again

Southern div guys have certainly put in the miles this year, well done. Don't forget to do the intervals and sprints as well now (in place of some of the long steady stuff). Good to back up the benefits by having a quiet week, say 5 days easy every 3rd week; that's when the body banks all the training benefits!

Dave, who mentioned anything about slow, steady stuff - we have Justin the twitchy riding with us, instigating sprints for signs at every opportunity.
This is first year back racing after many years. Periodisation didnt really exist back in the 90s when I last raced, or at least not with me and my clubmates- ride loads of miles in off season then race in spring and summer seemed to do it. I'm finding the new (to me) idea of rest weeks very helpful.

I won't be out in the morning, we have got too much on tomorrow, I'll have to grab an hour on the bike when I can, it may be a day on the turbo.

Haha Andy, I'm only twitchy when someone is flying past me. Good training sessions at the weekend backed up with the Track and TT events. I think I need my days to be 36hrs long to fit everything in!!! can't seem to fit a easy week in every 3. Most I can muster up is a rest day on a Monday when I do some core exercise for a hour. (200 sits up, press ups, Leg lifts, the plank really hurts - I recommend it!!!) Plenty of varied miles here in France and a lot of Chocolate bread, baguettes but it is a 'vacances' after all!!!

We are riding up on Saturday to help with the Marshalling etc at SSC. Then riding back and I will then probably stay out for a bit, I can feel another Moster Ride comng on this week again Anyone else riding from SSC to Worcester etc. Let us know Saturday afternoon is always a little steadier on the pace so no worries about lightning speed!!!

Bloody hot today or what!!! Well we left home at 0645 for SSC on Marshall duties. Back home with the sun beating down on us but a nice tail wind. Quick bite to eat and back out on my lonesome. Pershore, lap of Bredon Hill, Pershore, Upton, Longford, Tewkesbury, Pershore and back home. 102 miles in total in 5.5 hours riding. Ran out of water so had a detour in Pershore to the mother in laws, never would have made it back with empty bottles. If you are out tomorrow big water bottles are in order I think
